Assemblywoman Young Kim (R-Fullerton), in partnership with the Barona Band of Mission Indians, recently awarded Buena Park High School with a $5,000 education grant to be used towards advancing technology education in its classrooms.

Every year, the Barona Band of Mission Indians offers a $5,000 education grant to each legislative district to be used to purchase items that will both promote academic improvement and benefit current and future students. Assemblywoman Young Kim selected Buena Park High School which is part of the Fullerton Joint Union High School District and serves students residing in both Buena Park and La Palma.

“I am so proud to have selected Buena Park High School to receive this much needed grant money,” said Assemblywoman Young Kim. “As a member of the Education Committee, I understand all too well how funding does not always make its way down to the classroom level. This money will go directly to the school and will have a direct positive impact on the students. I thank the Barona Band of Mission Indians and organizations like it who work at the local level to provide the best opportunities for our students.”

Assemblywoman Young Kim presented the check to Principal Jim Coombs at the start of Buena Park High School’s homecoming game. Kim represents the 65th Assembly District, which includes the communities of Anaheim, Buena Park, Cypress, Fullerton, La Palma, and Stanton.
