San Diego-based public affairs firm Madaffer Enterprises announced recently that Anaheim Councilmember Kris Murray has joined its growing team of public affairs consulting professionals.

Murray has more than 25 years of executive management experience, serving public agencies and private industry across Southern California. As a strategic partner at Madaffer Enterprises, Murray will help clients work collaboratively with key decision makers at the city, county and state levels to achieve strategic goals.

“We are excited to have Kris on board as a strategic partner,” said Jim Madaffer, president of the firm. “Her deep experience and broad professional network will be extremely valuable in our work to achieve the best possible outcomes for our clients.”

Murray was first elected to the Anaheim City Council in Nov. 2010 and was re-elected in 2014. Murray co-chairs the Southern California Water Coalition Water Energy Task Force and served two terms as Chair of the Orange County Council of Governments. During her tenure on the council, Murray has represented Anaheim as a board member of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, Southern California Association of Governments, Association of California Cities—Orange County, League of California Cities and Transportation Corridor Agencies. Prior to her service on the City Council, Murray was the vice-chair of the Anaheim Public Utilities Commission.

Murray’s experience with her sustainability-focused consulting firm, KLM Strategies, will complement Madaffer Enterprises’ focus on technology and innovation. She has been a senior vice president for Willdan, a professional consulting and technical services firm, and served a dual role as Executive Director for Orange County Transportation Authority and the Orange County Council of Governments. Murray was also senior vice president at the Orange County Business Council.

Murray began her career in Washington, D.C. as a senior legislative aide to U.S. Rep. Steve Horn. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from California State University, Long Beach, and a Master’s Certificate in Transportation Management from the Mineta Transportation Institute at San Jose State University.
